πŸ“Έ My April outfit repeats (the ones I can't stop wearing)

April was a good month for outfits. Like, a really good month.

I'm writing this from San Miguel de Allende, where we spent most of April, and honestly we don't want to leave.

It's stunning, and it's the kind of place that makes you want to put cute outfits together. Beautiful streets, great spots to eat, things to do every day. Getting dressed here almost feels like part of the experience.

The weather helps too. Cool mornings in the high 50s, warm sunny afternoons in the low 80s, and evenings that cool down fast. Perfect layering weather.

I did pop to Chicago for a quick family visit (very different weather situation πŸ˜‚), but the rest of April was all San Miguel.

And since you guys voted 100% yes on making this whole "three most styled pieces" a monthly series, here we are.

So, let's get into it.

(I'm 5'4", and somewhere between 126-130 lbs for sizing reference)

πŸ† Cashmere Fisherman Sweater Vest (size XS, color: ivory)

A sweater vest sounds like it belongs in a prep school catalog. I know. Stay with me.

This cashmere one is different. The fabric is genuinely soft and the vest silhouette does something really specific: it adds a warm layer without adding bulk.

That matters when you're traveling because every piece has to earn its place, and this one earns it multiple times over.

Wear it over a tank for a polished daytime look. Throw it over a long sleeve for a cooler evening. Or wear on its own as a top like I did here.

These were my two favorite looks: a date night and a travel day.

Because you asked for it, here are similar-ish options from other brands. Different budgets:

πŸ† Blue and White Striped Wide Leg Linen Pants (Size XS)

I almost went with the tapered version of these. And the tapered cut is very flattering, I own it in other colors. But for stripes specifically? Wide leg wins.

Wide leg linen pants are flowy and relaxed, and that's exactly what makes stripes work so well on this silhouette. They move beautifully, feel breezy, and look great for spring and summer.

These linen pants come in multiple colors, but I'm happy I got the blue and white because it's more versatile than it looks. It almost feels like styling a neutral. I've paired them with white, black, grey, navy, and light blue. (would look gorgeous with red too!)

And for stripes or any lighter, printed bottom: I always think about visual volume. Lighter colors and prints draw the eye, so if you're conscious of that around the hip area like I am, a slightly looser fit gives you more balance.

I found these pants to fit slightly big though. Like I'm wearing XS, inseam 26" and they're perfectly loose, so I don't think you'd need to size up.

And here are my picks from other brands:

πŸ† TENCEL Chambray Shirt (size XS - color: light indigo)

If you remember from last week's email, I talked about TENCEL/Lyocell.

TENCEL is a fabric made from wood pulp and it has a very specific feel: soft, smooth, and slightly silky. It moves with you instead of against you. It's often blended with other fabrics to make them feel softer and drapey.

And this chambray shirt is made with TENCEL. It fits like a glove and it's naturally wrinkle resistant. I love it so much! (I didn't iron it for the photos - I actually have barely ironed anything in my life πŸ˜…)

Other brands with great chambray shirts: (not all are TENCEL)

One quick thing I wanted to mention about light colored linen pants in general... they can be a little bit see-through. I don't recommend wearing them with dark underwear, or long dark-colored tops you'll have to tuck in. Just a heads up ;)

⭐️ Honorable Mentions:

San Miguel has cobblestones everywhere. Beautiful, charming, ankle-threatening cobblestones πŸ˜‚

I knew it was very likely we would come here in January when I packed for Mexico (remember I didn't know our final destinations when I packed), so I knew I had to include sandals with good soles.

I've been wearing these two + my white sneakers almost on a daily basis: (I also have these flat leather sandals with me, but that's the style you want to avoid on cobblestones at all costs)

  • Italian Leather Platform Sandals - The platform sole is what makes them cobblestone-friendly. You get height without the instability of a heel, and they're genuinely comfortable for walking. Sure I walk slightly slower than I do with sneakers, but they're still really comfortable.
  • Nappa Leather Slides - my everyday sandals this month. Flat, supportive sole, and they look great with everything. Think of these as the Quince answer to leather Birkenstocks. Same vibe, lower price point.

If you're heading to Europe this summer, this is your sign to think about your soles before you pack. Cobblestones are everywhere, and a thin flat sandal will have you miserable by noon. You want a sandal with actual grip and some structure underneath. And please remember to walk miles in your shoes before you travel with them.

Did this month's round-up deliver? Let me know!

See you next week 😘

XO,

Aimara

Also, a note about last week's email...

I don't think I've ever gotten so many replies from a single email! (read it here if you're interested in summer-friendly fabrics).

Today's email is going to feel a little different from what I usually send you, and I want to tell you why upfront. Most weeks I'm in your inbox showing you outfits, sharing packing tricks, getting you excited about your next trip. And I love that for us. But every once in a while, I want to put the styling tips on pause and have a more honest, behind the scenes conversation with you. Today is one of those days. Because here's what I've been thinking about a lot lately: I know some of you...

I was scrolling through Ann Taylor a couple of weeks ago trying to find a Mother's Day gift for my mom. She's petite, so that brand fits her really well. The funny thing is, I went in looking for one specific top and ended up with a tab open of about fifteen things I wanted for myself πŸ˜… I used to shop at Ann Taylor SO much... and then just... forgot they existed LOL. But anyway, I was reminded of how cute their spring and summer styles are. This is sounding like a sponsored email haha but...

Hey gorgeous! ✨ Have you heard of the Sudoku Packing Method? It's also called the 3x3x3 method, but Sudoku is a way cooler name - and honestly, it describes it perfectly. Here's the idea: You pick 9 pieces of clothing that all work together in a 3x3 grid. βœ… 3 tops βœ… 3 bottoms βœ… 3 layers. Every single piece is compatible with every other piece - across rows AND columns. The result? 27 mix-and-match outfits from just 9 pieces. Here's how the grid works - each column and each row is already a...
